Here is what was said in the video/voice recorder:
- The target audience of this magazine is teenagers and young adults. I can tell this because Taylor Swift is an artist that most teenagers and young adults listen too and her being on the front cover will attract there attention.
- Here the model (Taylor Swift) is posing in a very "teenage" position, with her hip slightly jutted out, one arm resting on said him in a arch and the one arm positioned above her head. She wears the colours black and white which are very simple, which to me does not appeal to the teenage audience because of the lack of bright colours. However, I think the young adult audience would be satisfied because simple is not always a bad thing and the blue masthead does stand out nicely.
- The genre of this magazine is pop. I can tell this because Taylor Swift is on the cover and despite she used to be associated with the genre Country, she has moved on and gone into the pop genre.
- The position of the masthead is good because it's at the top of the magazine and people can see it best there. However, the full body shot of Taylor Swift does cover part of the masthead and therefore, if some readers have not come across this magazine before, they may not be able to tell what the masthead reads.
- The magazine follows a three colour rule of Blue, White and Black. I personally love the simple style and thick they are a nice choice because no colours clash. However, like I have already mentioned, some teenagers would much rather prefer much brighter colours and therefore, the magazine may not appeal to a large part of there target audience.
